We have a Series one and Series IV D17; or at least I believe it's a series IV; but I have an idea it may just be the decal as it is one of our many tractors we have saved from the ding weeds. Here is a picture if it will let me post a URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Allis-Chalmers_Model_D17.jpg

I don't know where I heard one was rare but I really think I have.

welcome to the page  your photo thing didnt work.  The D-17 IV is not rare they were the best of the D17s with larger hyd and a 3pt.   But I would like to see the photo if you get it posted.

Kip u can cut and paste it to get the pic.  Nice looking tractor, but not really rare....just worth more than the early series D17.  Should have a live hydraulic pump where the belt pulley normally goes. RH side, in front of the brakes.

Okay I wasn't sure; hey I did find a forum thread from this site about a D17 Wheatland that's rare: It's called "so how rare is a D17 Wheatland propane" http://www.allischalmers.com/new/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=6966&title=so-how-rare-is-a-d17-wheatland-propane
Also how do you get that list of all your tractor under neathe your forum posts?

Yeah the propane wheatland that sold for $16k?? is yet to be substantiated...BTW, wheatland D17's would be worth more than a Series IV....but a regular Series IV would be a much more useful tractor, and a Diesel SIV would be worth more than a gas.

All right. Yeah I didn't think there was a big chance we owned anything rare. The only thing that's rare is how we still use all our Allis Chalmers regularly and that's all we own.

Daniel, I would say the Series IV is scarce compared to many tractors but not really rare. Looks like you have quite the herd there !

There's a picture of all the allis chalmers we had in the mid 90s. We have at least four more now. Sorry it's blurry; it's a picture of a picture.
