dad and i recently blew some hydraulic lines and replaced all the lines behind the fuel tank on our 8050. we also had a leak on the stearing motor and rebuilt it. While we were at it we replaced the hydraulic filters under the rear end housing and changed the oil. now the tractor has a whine that is very annoying. it goes away when we raise and lower the disk and it picks up 100 rpm when we step on the brakes. I have no idea what to look for. our neighbor is a case tech rep and he thinks it's running full pressure all the time. it sounds to me like it's sucking air. does anyone have any suggestions? thanks,

Provided you installed the belly filters correctly, I'd guess you have one of those new hoses touching something under the cab or behind a fuel tank. They CANNOT tough the cab structure or an annoying "hum" will occur.

DrAllis, thank you so much. I should have posted sooner but I've been planting beans. The hose from the pump to the valve stack that I repalced was touching the cab. Dad and I thought we had bigger problems. We were looking for a check valve or something holding the compensater
open and we don't really understand how that sysetem works. We ran that tractor 12 hours today with no trouble other than a hydraulic line on the disk but I'll take that. Thanks again,
