Took a day off from work and went to an auction. I was looking at some hay equipment but almost left with this. This tractor wasn't too bad and had 3 remotes, pto and 3 pt. Had rusty cab corners, a few leaks, but it ran nice and was supposedly a good driving unit. The meter stopped at 2400 hrs so that wasn't correct. The hammer almost dropped at $1500 but finally another guy got in and it sold for $3600.

We talked about looking into it I guess we should have. The carnage with my big Ford got me feeling poor.

I passed on a lot of deals that day since I was saving it all for the hay baler and of course that was the one thing that wasn't a deal. So, of course I'm mad for passing on that tractor, but a day where I didn't spend a dime isn't a bad day either.

The hay baler was about a NH BC5060 with a thrower that had a pretty easy life and it sold for $16k.

I have ZERO need for that tractor, for that kind of $$$ I still would have bought it. LOL

That seems to be the market price on nice, newer New Hollands. I was hunting for a deal and I know sometimes deals can be found on weekday auctions, but there were more than a few of us there looking at the hay equipment. I'm in no rush as I can make the 269 go another year or two with my acreage and being it just got new plunger bearings and knotter chain.

Now if I could have convinced myself I could have used that 7580...

This 7580 recently sold near me for $3700....The engine was in the shed with 400 hours on a rebuild...The PTO drive coupler was bad..
