I was running my b212 the other day and I noticed a burning rubber smell. I know a belt was slipping so I pulled out the clutch pedal towards the seat, and I noticed some play in there..   when I let off the clutch medal it doesn't come back all the way so I have to pull it back about  1-2 inches   does anyone know how to tighten the clutch pedal so it springs back more and doesn't burn my belt.

First check the idler arm pivot to make sure it's free and not froze up or binding. If it's free then you need new spring and we have put heavier ones on them also. Also adjustment and condition of the variable speed pulleys affect's it also. Operators manual has adjustment procedures in it. You can down load it from Simple Tractors.
