Here is a picture of a recent acquisition.  The sheet metal on this tractor is nearly perfect and it runs well.  The only problem I have found is some chatter in the tranny in 3rd gear.  It even has a Nelson muffler on it.  Please forgive the fake chrome.  It will be off soon. Thanks for looking.

Pretty common for the 3rd gear chatter from what I have found.....I still like the early D10-12's.

Looks like a handy tractor to have around. I seem to use the little tractors more on the farm than my bigger ones.

Really a nice D12. Looks like someone did a decent job and took care of it. I have two (both Series I); one rehabbed and in the final testing phase; other is still in process of rehab. Both were in very sorry condition when acquired; in fact, the 2nd one was acquired as a donor for the 1st one and I decided to rehab it after getting the engine freed up and ran it for awhile. Love the way both of them run...and the power they have.
Congrats and enjoy your D12.

The 3rd gear chatter is common to those transmissions, what happens is due to the thickness of the coupler when in third gear the reverse idler is driven by third gear.  It doesnt pull, just turns so you can hear the teeth slap.  It doesnt hurt anything, just sounds funny.  There is a service bulletin on how to eliminate the noise, you have to tear the trans down and make the gear narrower-cannt remember which one for sure. I have the bulliten in my D14 service manual.   Howd ya come out on the one with the intake valve????
