Anybody able to ID this planter from a picture? (I "borrowed" the picture, but have the same planter, just not as pretty, yet.) I would like the model number, and/or where to find a manual for it.

That is a Rear mounted Drill Planter with Gate type fertilizer hoppers. I got my manual off of ebay.

Thanks for the description.
Is this what the manual looks like?

Yep that is a 3 point drill planter.  I just bought a manual last week from an online antique store for $13 i think.

The manual is called

operating instructions and parts illustrations
REAR-MOUNTED DRILL PLANTER

We just finished giving ours a clean up and fresh coat of paint over the last week and it is done now minus a couple lids that I have coming for it.  We removed our fertilizer boxes as they were locked up solid and need more work than we have time for right now.

Heres a link to thread on mine, there might be some helpful information for you in it!

Edit: Yes that is the manual you need!

Thanks for the link.

I laughed out loud when I read the story.  Having flashbacks of planting the sunflowers by hand last year made me drag this thing in and make it work. Mine has steel drums for both the seed and the fertilizer. Surprisingly they are not rusted through. The fertilizer drums were really tough to disassemble though, very rusty internally. Got everything cleaned and moving. Gonna try some seeds. If it works I'll plant, then make it pretty for next year.

I have not found the manual for sale, yet. The picture I sent was from a site that that "had" one, but the sale is pending.

Let me know if you scan yours, or want to sell a copy.

Thanks for all the replies.

That manual is for a planter with gate type hoppers , and if yours is just like the planter in the picture then yours is a gear type which is much more common, so make sure of your setup. the gate type has a little tower inside the hopper the gear type does not. HTH

The manual has all the different types of fertilizer and seed hoppers in it.

On the manual I will try to scan it when I get back to work next week hopefully since we have a copy machine that will put it straight to .pdf format for me at work.
