The weight on the ownership says 4680 KG or 10,296 lbs. This seems a little high for a 2 wd 85 Ford cube van with a small block and a 14 ft fiberglass box. Maybe that was the weight with all the firefighting equip in it. I guess I will take it to the truck stop in the morning and weigh it.

If you look in the door tag, you'll see the specified tire type, load range, and pressure, as well as the front axle rating (GAWF) and rear axle rating (GAWR) as well as the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVW)... under no circumstances should you exceed either of these ratings, nor should you load it to those limits with tires of less capacity than recommeneded.

The weight of the vehicle, however, will be lighter.  My experience for 'cube van' moving vans of the 10k GVW class, is that you'll have around 3500lbs on the steer axle, and about 3000 on the drive, for an empty of about 6500lbs... leaving you a capacity of around 3500lbs.  Newer cube vans will be lighter, particularly if you have an aluminum body and a lightweight (single wheel) rear axle.  Always put it on a scale to be certain, and note the amount of fuel onboard before weighing... good rule is to always weigh with full tanks, partly so you know for certain, and partly so that you don't have errors due to fuel motion.

Hello Brian    I had one when I was a construction  equipment mechanic for the tele co with tools wellder parts it weighted about 13000#  I would also pull construction trailers to saftey lane or repair.  It was the best service truck because everything was inside, and had a passageway door from cab to back and in the cold everything was warm.
