This light has been around our farm for as long as I can remember.  I finally decided early this morning that I was going to see if it worked.  My 17 didn't have the 12 volt outlet on the back so I bought one this winter and installed that this morning and after some shining up on the plug on the light I managed to get it plugged in.  It had a blinker on it and actually worked for a while if I held the blinker in the right position.  Went to town and bought a $3 blinker relay and wired that in and I now have a safety light for transporting equipment down the road.

always saw the outlets on tractors but never saw the actual light.  Night time was milking/feeding time anyway.

I have two. One looks about like yours and the other is NOS on original box. I tried to buy it from Norm Stienman for about 3 years and finally bought it at his auction.

I purchased a NOS in box at the local dealer close out. I still have and not for sale, come to think about it, I need to locate and look at it again.

I am going to guess that the NOS ones do not have a blinker unit wired into them and the light is on all the time?

I think that a flasher bulb was available around the time or later for automotive use if I remember correctly(J C Witney?)

Hey Don, anytime lol

I have 3 that are very similar to the one pictured. They have an ordinary automotive turn signal flasher in them. They can be on steady, flashing, or off.

This one had an automotive 3 prong flasher in it.  I would guess that it was added to it by my dad or step grandfather.  The wires were just looped through the holes in the prongs and than black taped and then the whole flasher unit was black taped to the bracket.
Why don't they make black tape the way they did years and years ago.  I would not now how old the black tape was on there but it was tough stuff and still was sticky when I peeled it off.
