Have the WD up and running, but the kill button doesn't kill the engine. Before I take the mag apart, what exactly does the kill button short out? Where does the intern wiring from the kill button connect? Thanks, Steve

Are you trying to kill it with the tab at the mag or with a switch at the console?

Steve,
If you're referring to the Mag kill lever on the side of the Mag, there's an insulated wire that runs up and connects to the points where the condenser connects. When you push the lever down and ground it to the Mag's housing, it grounds the points and shuts the engine down.
Now, if you're referring to a remote Mag kill switch, there were two. One was a self grounding switch with had one screw terminal on the bottom of the switch that connected to the Mag's grounding stud out the side where the lever is. The other switch used was a two terminal switch, which one side was grounded in the instrument box, and the other attached to the Mag's outside stud/lever. Pull the know out for either switch and it grounds the points shutting the engine down. If you're pushing the lever and its not shutting the engine off, the insulated wire inside that runs to the points may not be hooked up, OR it ain't in there to start off with. Or, may not be a good ground to the Mag housing to shut it down.... HTH

The wire from the normally open kill switch hooks here. The switch has to be grounded properly to ground this wire when it is closed.
