A few years ago I went in with 5 other local fellows to purchase a dyno. Did anyone ever make a conversion or apparatus to hook a belt pulley to a modern day dyno? i have several old tractors with belt pully that don't have a pto.  Dave.

Yes Dave M & W made a unit just for belt tractors. I used one years ago at the Johnne Deere store in Lee's Summit Mo. back in 1976. It was just a shaft with a pulley on one end and had two pillow block bearing and the other end it had a 540 PTO to the dyno,
The unit was setting on A frame that was staked down.

I think some sawmills used a setup like that.

would both pully's need to be the same size, right?

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.
