Hi,
I'm restoring a 1947 Allis B and the Marvel-Schebler TSX-154 carburetor is missing the gasoline drain strainer. The brass retaining ring is still there but either the felt or curled hair part is missing and I haven't been able to locate a replacement. None came with the "Complete Carburetor Kit" I purchased.
My question is: Does anyone know if this part is available and if not what could be used as a substitute. The part is suppose to allow gas to drain if the carburetor floods but keep dirt from being sucked into the system.
Thanks!

Maybe your local Deere dealer has one. It would be a cintered bronze plug. Read this.

Thanks! Now that I know the part number I'll have no trouble finding one.
