I'm going to look at a loader for my model B. I haven't seen any photos, but the seller says it's all there, complete with PTO driven hydraulic pump. It needs some sanding, cleaning, and painting. I haven't seen many photos of Bs with loaders. The loaders I have seen all look the same, like they might be the same make and model (lightweight with trip buckets). Does anyone know whay company or companies made loaders for Bs, how common (or not) they are, and what one might be worth? I realize the last part is hard to answer. This will all help me to make a reasonable offer. Thanks! Scott

| The most common one that I see was made by the Henderson company. I can't help you out with the price though. |

Scott, We did not sell loaders for the B. However, there are some made that were quite successful.
Be certain you have all the parts - the pump, hoses, valves, and mounting frames. Some of the mounting frames get lost on the tractor so be certain you get those. Look at the frame to be sure it is in alingment. Storing them may bend them. Also, take a good look at the bucket to be sure it will release and snap back into place. They are usually mechinical not hyd.
As to the price remember you are looking at something many years old and it is almost catch as catch can. How much do you want it. That usually determines the price.
To me it seems that several hundred is about right but that's from an older mind.

| Scott Listen to Bill L he knows what he is talking about. I have a Henderson on my B, I did much work on it including making new lift arms, the old ones were welded where the bend is. A tractor friend said to remember that the more rediculous they were to begin with the more collectable they are now. Mine is for show only. Mark L |

| Henderson by far made the most. I've also heard of some Farm Hand and maybe even a deerborn loader for a B. I have a henderson and when I had it hooked up it was pretty darn handy. It will lift more then you should though. The B was not meant as a loader tractor, and if you lift heavy loads, it will put a LOT of stress on the torque tube. I have talked to the preveous owner of mine and he said if I ever decided to get rid of it, he would like first dibs on buying it back. I would take anywhere between 200 to 500 for one. But mine is REALLY nice. Painted very nicely, has all original tags and the hydraulic pump goes with. So thats at least a ball park for you. |

| As stated by others the henderson was the most common, I think because it was cheaper than others. I remember my Dad looking at literature at different dealers ,them buying a henderson for our Farmall C, it came on a skid and he and gramp put it together. Soon after Gramp stripped the steering geer. light tractors were not made for a loader. I had a henderson that came with a parts tractor and I sold it for $300. and the bucket was rough. I have one that I would like to mount on a B that has a name tag that says brackett& shaw, it has short cyls. that push from a low frame that hangs from the plate at the front of the engine, Cal in Ct |

I got this tractor about 5 years ago and it always ran fine I used it to remove snow and move some dirt around. It was a county tractor that was rebuilt by the previous owner it has almost new back tires with tire chains power steering and a very nice full hydraulic loader. I think it has some type of 3 point hitch and a PTO shaft out the back also. The tractor does turn over but does not start. This tractor does need some work I think the carb needs to be rebuilt.
