On the 2.5 hour return trip from Gray, TN I decided to take the back roads home and what a great decision.  Came across a load of AC equipment along with the 85 year old gentleman who ran the AC dealership in Abingdon, VA.  When his dealership closed in 85' he was given 5 days to remove whatever was left.  He has several 3pt AC sickles, 333 no-till planter that was his demo unit, never sold and not used since.  444 baler, corn chopper, several plows and planter frames, not to mention a large asortment of tractors (180, 185, 170, 5045, 175 to name a few).  He also has numerous NOS parts laying around in barns. The equipment is in fairly good shape to have been sitting for so many years.  I am considering making an offer on some of the stuff but don't want to offend him and his years of stories.  What would some of this stuff be worth?  Any ideas.

Just ask him if he's interested in selling any of his parts. If he agree's, then he will price the parts to you for what your interested in. Just be honest, if you don't agree on the price, that's when the dickerin will start, he's been around along time, betcha he's got really thick skin. He will respect your honesty, knowledge, and will size you up real quick I bet. He may not be "in the loop" on today's pricing, what's rare, what's not, etc.

From what I gather from him he didn't think anybody even cared about AC equipment anymore.  He said he bout a couple of new Kubota tractors because he didn't want to have to find parts for his AC's if something broke.  He loves AC said he "swears by them" and was happy to see a young enthusiast.
