It has been a couple months since I posted about the 190XT that we picked up for my son to use for his cattle chores (he has 9 head of purebred Limousins in his 4H herd). We've been fixing a few things here and there. New batteries, all new lights, etc... I've listened to your advice on a couple of other suggestions... I picked up a pair of 8x16 front rims and have a pair of 11-16 tri-rib tires to mount on them (I had planned on going with 10-16 tires but this pair of 11-16's was nearly free so we went with them) . This should help tremendously when my son is moving round bales with the loader (especially with all the rain we've had the past week - nearly 5 inches in 48 hours!). We should have those mounted and on the tractor by this weekend. I also picked up a clean used set of rear 18.4 x 34 rims from Mack that are in great shape.  Those will be swapped out in the near future. Based on my reading, it sounds like we may want to check the front-end over well since this tractor has had a loader mounted on it for many years. I know I need to replace the tie-rods. What about the pivot point? Is there anything in particular I need to be checking? | Watch the left rear corner of the frame for your front axle right in front of the bell housing or rear pivot they break there because the steering cylinder pushes them apart there. Have seen many fixed there, just have to do a good job when fixing so they don't look like ____ |
