I'm putting new shoes on my 9690. They had calcium chloride in the old tires without tubes. I would like to go back with some type of liquid. What do you folks think. Calcium Chloride, antifreeze, or methanol, and should I use tubes or tubeless. New tires are Firestone 18.4x46 23 degree deep lug radial, plus adding FWD tires and should I put ballast in the front, I have half of the front weights on. Our temps usually drop in the single digits every year and below zero about every 4 or 5 years. Coldest I remember was 11 below back in the 80's. I am leaning toward methanol and tubeless because it is not as corrosive.  Thanks

Kevin, I'd be a little leary of going tubeless with any kind of fluid in them. On our 8050 we had went tubless with calcium chloride, and eventually had to put tubes in anyway. It was probably because they were power adjust rims, and they started leaking wherever there was a weld holding the spiral rail on. You might be OK if you have regular rims. I don't really care for  any fluid in tires, but I realize that it is kind of a necessity to get your power to the ground.  Darrel

Run the front tires half full of fluid and you'll get rid of the "bounce" when going down the road at 25 mph.
