This is a tractor I just purchase and going through it for the first time. I just took the pan off the left side final drive and cleaned it, put a new rubber/cork gasket on it and put new fluid in. (had about 3 or 4 cups worth when I took it down.

Is this a good time to check anything else in this area while I have the tire off and jacked up like the rear bearings or anything? I took the small plate off with 4 bolts and saw that rear bearing but I guess I can't do much from there.. it looks like to really access them you have to take the 8 bolts off that hold the final drive unit on....

These bearings get lubed by the final drive fluid I just put in?

Thanks,

If the stub axle don't have any in play, put it togather and forget it. It has ran 55 plus years and should run another 55.   MACK
