I recently have the idea of repowering a WC with some sort of oddball powerplant. Have any of you seen or done a repower on a W-series tractor? If so, please share some pictures and knowledge. I am interested in seeing anything from 2 stroke Detroits to I-6 and V8 engines.
Thanks,
Randy

I have seen WD45's repowered with the gas straight six equivalent of the WD45 diesel engine; think they said they came in combines. Wonder if one would fit in a WC?

I spoke with a guy at our local show whose neighbor allegedly put a 433T in a WD, I've been intrigued ever since but haven't heard of anyone else doing it. Would think it would be a nice fit size wise but a fair amount of fabrication.

A WC at an auction a couple years ago had a V6 Buick engine.  Did a real nice job and it even had new rear tires.  Went for $500!

I've seen one of those engines in person. Neat and definitely oddball, but I'm looking for a little more power and noise!

I know a guy with several straight 8 Hudsons. Be interesting to see one put in a WC.

I think the one at Hutch was a Chevy motor. (Not positive).
Shameless, yeah those plugs would be easy to get to. But I think they used at least a couple shoe horns to get that motor in there. LOL

yeah...I see the frame is cut on both sides. mine with the Chevy in it has the frame cut for just the starter, not a very big cut.

I have a Mercruizer Marine 4 cylinder engine & Powerglide to put in my unstyled WC one of these days. Rated at 140HP, should move that along wit' no problem. Plans are to work on that when I retire in a couple of years. Been collecting parts for that project...
