i recently bought a 7000 and a 7040 ps. i seen an add somewhere that someone put a 7030 front axle under a 7000. May possibly put a loader on the 7000 and keep it. 7040 has a locked up transmission or rearend. havent went and got 7040 yet.Anyone know how much work this will take or is does it bolt right up. i thought 7030 and up had a wider frame for the bigger engine. any help would be appreciated.

I think if you look in a 7000 book it will tell that the heavy (7010-7080) front end was an option. If I remember it right.

My 7000 is a "special" but has the standard front end. So I dont think all specials had them.

Double check on the bolster, I think it may have been different to accommodate a larger axle pin?

The 7000 with the heavy front axle uses a different power steering cylinder. I don't believe that the standard one will work and the heavy one from a 7010 thru 7080 doesn't work right. It steers a lot easier one way than the other. I think that someone had a way to get around this, but I don't remember what the solution was.

Different valve to accommodate a different cylinder I would guess. Is it called a compensator valve? I forget.
