| I love those unstyled WC's. They are just so neat! Teel us more -- running, etc. The plow looks like a horse (MULE) drawn plow. Did they come together? Looks like you got the picture posting figured out -- I still haven't posted a picture - but will. |

Got a call from a friend said he knew about it and the owners were taking it to scrap. I went to look at it and bought it from them so I could save her. The lady said it was her grandfathers and it has not been run in 40+ years and she said that she would sell it to me as long as I fixed it up and ran it. The shed they had it stored in fell around it and they pulled it out of the rubble so I could get it. I did get the motor to turn over but I do not have it running yet(no spark). I have new front tires and am getting new rear tires for her soon.

| Cool, it has a belt pully too. I enjoyed watching JB running his WC belt pully at Dales show. Not sure the front is an aftermarket thing. Looks like it might be the base for attaching a mounted cultivator. There are little curved things that the cultivator slides into. Don't be in a hurry to get rid of what you have. |

the man that had this must have been planning on letting it set a while. he made this little cap to cover the manifold... the plow in the first pic says 88oliver on it and came in the deal..jb

The small tank was for gas, the main tank for distillate or kerosene type. Tractor was started on gas warmed up to operating temp. then switched over to distillate. That's why there was an adjustable canvas cover for the radiator. Small tank had it's own shut-off. I believe it was switched back to gas before shutting down. Both fuel lines run into the frt. of the carb. Forgot to mention that there was a gas and a distillate manifold. Mine now has the gas one. |

Small tank is for gasoline, to start the engine and get it warmed up. Larger tank is for kerosene - known at the time as "tractor fuel" (less expensive fuel than gasoline) but lower octane, so worked best in an already-warm engine. ------------- The innovators offer what others will imitate. |

JB, Thanks for saving another Allis Chalmers. I love the flat top WC's. They were the first tractor my father sold. If I could find it I would somehow make room for it.
Let us know how it goes. Great news that it turns over. Can't believe a 73 year old tractor that has basically had a shed fall around it is that good.

Most likely the added pieces on the front were for pushing loaded wagons into the barn, often up the grade/hill. It was much easier hooked to the front than the back. Dusty ------------- 917 H, '48 G, '65 D-10 series III "Allis Express" |

| What's amazing is that nobody cut a hole in your hood for the WD style exhaust manifold. I have a 37 with electric start, my starting tank was in sad shape but picked one up at the Nutsch auction. |
