Just wanted to thank those folks who responded to my "too high rpm" governor issue last week.  I took the 45 to Alvin Martin in Ephrata PA who helped me out big on this as no one i know local to me has experience with Allis governors.  Here's what was happening:  The weights were worn where they contacted the shaft; the pins were loose in the weights as well; the bearing had a groove worn in it and was too far off to keep things in check and the Zenith carb may have made the rpm's rise even higher.  Alvin worked my tractor in his schedule, got me running right again and I was able to pull this weekend placing third and fourth in a pull I wasn't really prepared for.  Horsepower and carburetion definitely weren't the problem, not enough weight and driver error as usual!  I want to understand these governors better and hope to fix the problems myself in the future.  Thanks much for all the advice.
