What is the difference between a series one, three and five d17? Also, what is  a  good price for a 17 series 3 with good sheet metal and good running condition? Is a series 3 a lot more than a WD45 which i have now? Looking to do a little upgrade from the 45 and that would involve selling the 45.

There is no series 5, the series 4 had a live hydraulic pump and used lower pressure and higher volume 2 way system to conform with other tractors of the time. I think the biggest difference in the 17 from the 45 was the 2 speed power director. It may be said to be somewhat more comfortable to spend the day in the seat of a 17 over a 45.
