I just purchased my first Allis Chalmers and have no idea what model it is. It is going to need many, many parts so knowing what I have must come first. Where should numbers, etc. be located? I just need a little push to get started bringing this item back to life. thanks in advance.

Can you post a picture? Is it a wide front, narrow, gas, diesel, how many speeds in tranny. | Depending on what model and what/how many parts are missing you may be better off buying another tractor of the same model and using that tractor as a parts tractor... |

From the late 30's till the late 50's the serial number would be stamped next to the gear shift lever or on the back of the differential housing behind the left brake. All models stamped by the shifter will start with the model, such as B12345 or C12345 or CA12345.

If it looks anything like this, it could be a WC,WD or a WD45. If it looks like this one, it needs weight on the front.
