last week while disking dad blew a hydraulic hose from the trans to the oil cooler. he shut it down right there so it didn't hurt the tranny. While we were replacing the hose we noticed two other hydraulic hoses behind the batteries that had been rubbing together. they were steel braided and the one we replace was not so we decided to keep running and replace them after the corn was in. Yesterday while i was disking one of those hoses blew.
my question is, was it just time or is there something else causing it. I notice a clamp that holds one hose to the side of the tranny had broke and we plan on replacing it when we replace the hose. It seems ironic that after 4000 hours two hoses would blow in the same week. should i be looking for something else.
thanks in advance for you advice.

I would look for any other hoses, including radiator hose to replace. Check belts too. All of them wear out with time and use.

I had the hose from the pump to the valve body behind the cab wear a hole in it on my 8050.It was a lot of fun to change.Yes as these tractors work and age the hoses need to be inspected a lot more for replacement.

Last summer I had the supply hose from pump to valve stack blow, and within a week the PS filter hose blew. While I had the fuel tank off I also replaced the 5/16 feedback line from the valve stack to the pump. This was on an 8010 with 5000 hours.

seems strange that they go all at once. I was only planting about 34 acres of corn and planned on replacing the other hoses when i got done. I guess I'll do it now.
