I'm looking at buying a WD off of craigslist and delivered without looking at it. I know nothing about these tractors only been around the 7000 and hundred series. I'm wanting one to pull a 5 or 6' brush hog with mainly and maybe a couple other small jobs. Was looking at a B with belly mower for $2250 but decided a WD would be more versatile. It has 3pt. Conversion and like new tires and decent paint and wide front. Wanting $2000 delivered. I would really like a d15 but for twice the money to mow grass would I be just as happy with a WD? Thanks for any input.

For 2k it better be tip top. i wouldnt get the wd. They are great but a d14 or 15 is so much more nimble and easy to get on and off of. And the top link can be mounted high on the the d series so they handle 3pt implements better. I love my wd but it is terribly awkward as a chore tractor. Had a d14 with a 5ft brush hog that was a heck of a machine I could mow all day comfortably. And the high low powerdirector is nice when you get into thick spots

I like my WD's. They just are not as easy to use with a three point as compared to maybe the front entry/ mounting of a D series. I would rather use my Ford Jubilee with the brush hog. The WD will work. You just might be a little disappointed? The price for a "good" tractor is not too bad. I would ask double that or more for the WD's I just completed.

The RC, WC, WD & WD-45 all have external PTO. I have heard of people having problems with the external PTO, running a brush cutter. Maybe some other people can chime in here on that. I, personally, would probably look for a "D" series (D-14, D-15, D-17 or D-19) with an internal PTO (and power steering).
I would hate to buy (or sell) any tractor without seeing it, hearing it run and driving it. At $2000, you are paying plenty for a WD. For that price, it should bein excellent condition.
