Still have front clutch and rear pto. Lengthened 3 1/16" and a 1 5/8" spacer between flywheel and pulley. Working on relocating air cleaner. I need another hood if someone has a spare.

I once worked my stock 620 hard enough to have the transmission oil temp light come on. How is it going to handle 17 more horsepower. What is driving the quest for more power? With a handle like Fasstman, is it the more speed, more power philosophy? The air cleaner looks like a tight fit. Is that why you need a new hood, will it have to be reworked? We had some pictures posted here showing extended 720 (3cyl diesels). They must of had to make new hoods. Perhaps contact that poster for hood info, maybe they have a sheet metal wizard contact. How is the vibration and smoothness and sound of these v-twins compared to the opposed Onan? Looks like you can get to the started with out pulling the engine, yeah.

Now that ought to Get-er-done. Looks good. Keep us posted. I'm going to do something with mine but don't know what yet? A buddy of mine put in a Honda in his but he cant put the hood on as it gets hot. Did you have that problem with your Honda?

I just like power and because I can do it. The engine is smoother and more quiet than the onan. I am relocating the air cleaner for space.

My hood got hot but never blistered the paint. I want to run a lower profile battery and put another heat shield by it to keep more heat off of it.

Mine has a vertical muffler, not under the hood. I think that helps the heat issue. The exhaust pipes are not wrapped with insulation. But now I have to watch for tree branches.

Goes fine. You can just idle up hill with hydro in full forward in third gear and engine hardly even knows it. Just about have the mower deck mods done. Have the air cleaner relocated. Still looking for a hood.

thats a good price for your honda , how much did you have to strech the frame , will you have to widen the hood to fit the valve covers
|

3 1/16" stretch and I will have to lengthen and widen the hood. I am tring to get stuff low enough so I don't raise the hood.

I am not there yet. Still looking for a extra hood. I might have found one. I am still tring to shave the height down so I don't have to raise the hood. The hydraulic lines should be done today. Then it will be the hood. I mowed with it a couple days ago.

Fasstman, I can't help asking how is the heat issue? The reason I ask is I have 2 Exmark mowers with 38hp engines 999 ci, both have failed at around 500 hours due to some heat issue. They started ticking real loud and then went to missing real bad. One broke the cam dealer wouldn't say why but other is in shop now for replace. Kohler replaced both but I can't see them running any cooler in that chassis. Hopefully you won't have these problems but check with Kohler as there is a recall on certain big block engines

Hope i don't have heat problems. I header rapt the muffler seems to work good. The hood is widened and longer. I still have to do body work and paint. I will try to get some pics. It's cold around here now.

Tracy I don't know what series it is. It doesn't have any tag markings that I can see that would tell me. Maybe someone could tell by the pics at the top of this thread? Maybe Fasstman could tell the series??
