912 Hydro, Kohler K301 12HP

Motor still won't fire.
Turns over, but will not ignite.
So far I've replaced the following...

Ignition Switch
Starter Solenoid
Fuse
Spark Plug
Ignition Coil
Condenser
Breaker Points
Fuel Pump
Fuel Lines
Carburetor

Any ideas?
Thanks
Alan

I should mention that it was trying to fire but would sputter out after a few seconds. After replacing the fuel pump, it won't even try to fire, the motor just turns.

Alan just picked up a 912H myself and sounds like you are having the same mess I had with mine. The first thing I did after getting fuel system cleaned, good battery, was to pull head off to see how engine was running before it was parked and found bad head gasket during my inspection and valves not adjusted properly Intake .008 / .010 Exhaust .017/.019. And found wire to points hooked to positive side of coil doesn't start that way so check the wiring. My 912H was sitting in a shed since 1983 and its a 1979

Thanks for the feedback! I actually think we figured it out this morning. It seems that there were 2 old gaskets left on when someone replaced the fuel pump before, so when I added a third thinking that I had scraped it all off the crank lobe wasn't hitting the pump causing no fuel to be sent to the carb. She seems to be tuning fine now!
Thanks again!
