I restored an Allis Snow Bee snow blower a few years ago. It worked fine until this month. Now the drive doesn't work in forward or reverse. The case with the planetary gears turns but not the axle shaft. I pulled the drive axel and it appears as though there must be some sort of friction drive as there are no gears, splines, etc. Does anyone have knowledge of these units or a schematic? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

more than likely the same drive that on the 'mow bee', also the same as some early simplicity riding mowers. Hann-Eclipse was the manufacturer for the mow-bee, if you can get the info for the model 200 its the same. Ariens models used the same system at one time.
------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Hahn made some of the blowers, as did Gilson. I think the Hahn's were the only ones with the friction type drive though.
