Ok, Please forgive me, but I've never heard of the Grayhound company. At least one involved in Agriculture. Can some one give me a little history?

Whats the relation between Grayhound, Banting, and AC? Was this the same Banting company that made cranes? If its a different Banting company, anyone have any info on them?

The Greyhound tractor came  from The Banting Mfg Co. of Toledo, Ohio. It never called  Greyhound Company. Banting Mfg Co  incorporate January 1915 until late 1929.  Banting Machine Company began using  the  name after 1930 as a distributor/warehousing of AC. Later in some  years  they  called Banting Company  until it ceased in 1954. Banting passed away in 1954.
Banting  was a largest AC  sales in United States.  The  two  salesmen  have worked  for Banting moved  up  to AC  corporation management. Banting  sold  mostly standard  AC farm equipments when fewer was a Thresherman's Special tractor.  The Special tractor  was  redone in machine  shop in Toledo, Ohio for  twice  the money  for 2475.00 new.
I  have 100's of Banting archives dating back in 1876. Banting  made  threshers, tractor, steam traction, sugar beet harvester, hay press  and cotton picker. Banting  called it "The Greyhound Line Farm Machinery Light Strong Durable".
Here  is a  photo of my 1929 serial number 22499 Greyhound tractor.  The  same Greyhound radiator cast as a Banting Machine Co. The motor on Banting machine is  different  than  mine. It has  oversize bore, factory cab  and  optional road  wheel weights  I know  at least dozen Greyhound exist  and  three Banting Machine.  I know  two older 1925-1926 AC/Greyhound 22-42.  The  other two 1926 identified a AC but owner doesn't  even know it was a Greyhound. No raised letters on radiator casting. Just Greyhound  painting on front radiator  and inside fender. You  can  verify  my history in another site  http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52900

Banting-Greyhound mobile Museum  will be available  to display summer  show  at National Threshers Association of Wauseon Ohio last weekend of June.

There was a company called "Bantam Mfg" that made cranes and hyd excavators.  They were later bought out by "Koehring" in about the late 1970's.

SmileWe are trying to find literature on a Greyhound sugar beet harvester.  We have factory style photos of the harvester in the field.  The harvester is mounted on a Fordson tractor.  The harvester directly elevates beets into the wagon.

I do have two different original literatures  Greyhound sugar beet harvester in my collections. I have one  that was preprinting instruction manual made of  special litho papers was used in given to patent pending. They were in joint  with two companies before  it completely redesigned then Greyhound named in 1924 and on. I found a
glass negatives photos originally taken on October 23 1921  The first sucessfully invented self propelled single row sugar beet harvester was harvest at Delphos, Ohio farm.
greyhound did sell pull type  and self propelled sugar beet harvester.   I also has  9 years of newspaper clippings of greyhound harvester came  from  Canada.
