I am new to the site. I have an ac7040, ac7580, ac8550, and a 4w305. We still use these tractors to farm our cropland. I pull a 57ft flexi-coil air drill with the 4w305. Most people can't believe we pull this drill with a 4w305. Anyone else still using the last allis chalmers 4wd's? |

Welcome aboard. Nice lineup. I wouldn't be surprised at the 4W-305 pulling that drill at all.
Another one of the members, ILGleaner, has a 4W-305. I believe he still uses it.

| I run a 7580, and pull a 24 ft concorde air drill with it. That is quite impressive that the 4W 305 handles the 57 ft Flex-i-coil. Had a chance recently to buy a very nice 4W 305 for $15,000. Would have been worth, but I was short about $14,999!!!!, Welcome aboard, Darrel |

| We run a 7580 also, use it primarily for tillage. I wish we had a 4W220 or 305 tractor around, but have never seen one for sale locally. |

| Love the concorde drills! My uncle had a 60 ft on 12" spacings. I ran it for him a few times. We used to pull an old 35 ft 665 john deere air seeder with our 7580. Our 7580 has 14000hrs on it. We still do some pre working with it. The tractor was our seeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting tractor until the mid 90's. I think I paid $30000.00 for my 305 about 10 years ago. |

I have a 7580 and a 4w305 with a 400hp cummins. Have used the 7580 for disking, pulling a 30 foot GP grain drill, and moving dirt with a scraper in the back. Use the 4w305 for mainly pulling a 21 foot, 9 shank vertical plow with soil fracturing points. But have pulled the drill with it also. | I am jealous. We have talked about repowering ours. How has your transmission handled the extra power? I live about 4hrs away from KJ repower. These guys specialize in repowering massey and allis tractors. Let me know of any trouble you have run into with the conversion. Thanks! |

| We have a 7580, pull a 31.5 foot cultivator and a 15 foot chisel plow, and before we started notill we pulled a 7 furrow plow. On wet years we pull 2 400bu wagons out of the corn field with it |

My dad has a 7580 and 2 8550's that are still the primary tractors we use on the farm. We love them and you cant be hp to price ratio for these big machines. Here is a pic of the one we overhauled engine and painted with our grain cart. Wesson, have not had any problems with the 4w305 at all with the trans, drop box, rear end or any where else. I do try not to jerk or run in a gear that is higher than was mant to pull in. I also keep my rpm's backed off a little. Not for any reason other than with the big engine you can do these things and still have plenty of power and tractor. The 7580 I rebuilt the engine and rebuilt the drive shalfs and u joints, and grease them often and have not had any trouble with them since. I also back off a couple of hundren of rpm's with the 7580.

Kevin, I set up an account with photobucket (it's free) and then post picturs from there. Once you get pics uploaded onto their site then put your curser over the photo you want then link bars will show up under the photo. Move your curser down to the bottom one Labeled IMG and click the bar. | I sure appreciate the info! I push my 305 to its limits most of the time. Just waiting for it to bite me in the butt. The tractor is always well maintained. I run a hundred hrs. on the engine oil changes, and three hundred on the tranny/diffs, changing all filters/bypass filters every time. I got the tractor with 4000 hrs on it. Got 7000 hrs now with no big issues yet. |

| A beautiful 305 picture. I have retired and the next generation is all red now, but to have something to drive I bought an old AC 220, 1969 model. I owned and farmed with an 8550, 4w305 and an Agcostar 8425. The 4w 305 was probably the best tractor I ever owned until a hired man didn't clean the radiator and it got hot. Bear in mind we had both the 8550 and 4w305 turned to 360-375 pto hp and the 4w305 lasted for 20 years at that power. The Agco star was the biggest piece of junk and most powerful I ever owned |

| welcome clint! my biggest tractor is a 7080, i love all of AC's 4x4 tractors, hope to get one someday! i want to plan my next vacation to go to kurzy's place just to drive that awesum tractor of his! i gotta replace that 7080 soon or rebuild it...whew!! might even try for a stieger if cheap nuff! my ole lady...ooops...i mean my loving wife would just ....well we won't go there just yet!! again..welcome clint, hope too see pics of your tractores/equipment soon! |

I can't tell it as good as others can but here goes. In 2005 there was an all Allis tractor ride through the city of West Allis. The weather was not the best in the world but that is beside the point. Anyway as part of the ride they took the tractors into the former Allis-Chalmers plant. I don't think this is part of the tractor assembly plant but none the less it was at one time Allis-Chalmers. From what I've heard when the 4W-305 pulled into the building people took their hats off and gave respect to the tractor and company that helped build America. Along with that eyes got watery just to see the massive 4W-305 coming back home to where it was made.
It's what happens when you love and respect a tractor company so much.

I hauled my D-21 to the Union Grove GOTO so I could drive it through the West Allis plant. It was a wet evening but well worth the trip. ------------- Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed |

That was the first turn after coming into the building at the 2005 Allis Chalmers Tractor parade in West Allis , Wisconsin at the old Allis Chalmers factory. That tractor just made it thru the building because of very tight spaces. The last door out two men had to be on each side of the tractor to guide me out. That was one heck of a day for Allis Chalmers fans. If you want to hear more and want to see this AC 4W305 come to Kurzy Ranch. I had first hand view from the cab.
