I purchased my first tractor, a D15, a year ago. I completely redid the back end, hydraulic ram, gaskets, seals, brakes, cleaned and painted and reassembled. I drained all fluids and replaced with synthetics and new hydraulic fluid. Tractor has power steering and a front loader. Everything works and it does not pop out of any gears. All tires are new. Wide front. All repainted with proper paint except for lift arms and bucket. Series 1. Now for the not so good news.... I now hear a noise in the engine when under load. It is a tapping sound and I am suspicious that I may have a bearing noise.
Question - I now have too much money invested and I have lost interest. Do I sell it as it is or invest a further $$$$$$ to do the crank and bearings and possibly re-do the whole engine before selling?

the tapping sound under load could be a loose or bent pushrod-num 1 on my checklist

Sounds like ( pun intended) the noise is not that bad if it is just a tapping sound...what I am saying is, do not make any decisions untill you know what you are looking at ... or listening to.

Does it loose oil pressure while you are hearing this "tapping" sound? Could also be cam bearings that are making the noise.

Unless your are the lead horse the scenery never changes!!
