I have a 7040 that has jerky or knotchy sttering. The 3 point raises and lowers but will not lift any weight and the remotes don't really work. I know theres 3 pumps on these and on the pump that controls the 3 point the springs and shims are all in good shape. Any advice on what to check next?

Absolutely sure the rear end if FULL of oil?????? Sounds like it's ten gallons or more low. When's the last time you changed the left hand filter to the rear end???

The sight glasses are both full. Previous owner stated problem started before last filter change. Filter change did not help.

I'd be pulling the left filter to verify the screen is in the end of the filter and if it isn't an AGCO filter, throw it away.

I'm sure you double checked, but on my tractors those sight glasses are awful hard to see through sometimes. I have/had a 7060 that had sat for a long time, and the sight glasses were stained. Looked like there was oil, but when I got aggravated and unscrewed one, it didnt have oil in it. Cleaned it up real good and put it back. You might double check that. Any idea what type of oil the PO put in it? We ended up with some bad "universal" hydraulic fluid once that caused us all sorts of grief until we changed fluid and filters, flushed, and did it again.
