My cousin called me from an auction this morning and said there was a pair of front wheel weights with the number AM 3684-1.  I asked him to bid on them for me and now I am the proud owner.  Could someone tell me what they should fit?  Thanks.  Tom

Those are for the 16" wheels WC, WD, WD45, D17. They weigh about 90# each. hope this helps.

I have a set of them also, I bought them with a set of rear weights.  Im just kinda curious how do they mount? Do they bolt to the slots in the edge of the rim? Are they hard to come by? What are they worth?

Dan,

There is a special square-headed bolt to hold them to the rim.  The head looks normal, but is offset to one side so it fits against the rim.  You can also make a functional one yourself by grinding away one edge of a hex, carriage or square-headed bolt.

The weights used to be common as they were used on some Gleaner combines.  However, most of those old Gleaners have gone to scrap and no-one saved the weights!  Generally the ones I've seen for sale have sold in the range of $75-150 per SET.  I paid a tractor salvage yard $90 for my set (without bolts).

Thanks Russ, I gave $75 for my set with the rears too so i dont think i did too bad. I also have a wider set of weights that are on a Gleaner "F". Il try and look at them a little closer maybe get some #s off them. If i recall they mount a little different but i could be wrong.

Hey Dan 7080, I had an old bolt I copied. Took a square head 1/2" bolt and ground one of the flat sides down to the shank, worked just fine. I think it was 3 1/2" or 4" long.

Thanks Bill. I looked at my other set today they have the markings ROWE FDRY across from one another and 10 and 1980 across from one another they have 2 different 4 bolt mounting holes and are on 7.50-16 tires. They are on the back of a '73 gleaner "F". Any ideas????
