I have a question on the correct color of the wheels on my 1978 175. Mine has been repainted cream color sometime in its past, but I went to AGCO for paint and the parts guy thought all 175/185 were painted PO2/cream. My Heritage Catalog seems to show this to be correct, however many of the posts on paint that I have read on the forum say beginning in 1978 all AC were painted corporate orange/cloud white. I would appreciate your thoughts. Many thanks, Dennis

The new color 7000 series was introcduced in the spring of 1978, at that time they changed the color to corporate orange and new white (cloud white is an Oliver color). You are in the grey area there , if its an early production 78 then it may be PO2 and cream, how do ya know???? All tractors were built on the same line at West Allis, so I dont think there were any old color tractors built after the new color came in. After spring of 1978 all orange tractors were corporate orange and new white. The overseas built tractors dont have quite the same color either.

cloud white is the newer color along with corporate orange. Olivers used clover white, a very slight tint of green to it.

Cloud white would be the same white used on the 8000 series, correct?

Thanks for the replies. The S/N on mine is 5993, which puts it in the middle range of 1978 production. One of the reasons I ask is I rebuilt my seat last week and painted it corporate orange, went out to the shed and put it on and it does not match well at all. This week its getting new tires and am painting rims and centers and would like to get it right. Thaks again for your thoughts on this. Dennis

Remember, that tractor is 30 years old - that paint has probably faded quite a bit.
