any body got advice before i tear my magneto apart to replace the coil? what is the points gap? do you static time it like a farmall cub? it is a 1949 model c, thanks

The point gap, if I am not mistake, is 0.020.

thanks  good info. i got the magneto coil and it does not look exactly like the one on the tractor. the magneto is fairbanks morse x-4 b-3. is that the usual magneto for a 49 "c"? and how do you get the metal gear off to clean the insides? i took the c ring off but couldn't get the gear to slide at all. any help is greatly appreciated!
