Was just wondering what people look for in different situations as far as thier decision on what path they decide on taking down the track. Especially assuming you are an early hook. I like to find where the dirt is a little harder assuming moisture is fairly consistant i understand traction is important, but it seems like keeping the sled up on top of the ground is just as important. Just thought it would make for some interesting discussion as it seems to me it is one of the biggest variables in pulling but it's hardly ever discussed

By no way will I say I know how to pick a good line. But if the track has a scraper and a wobble wheel trailer. I believe if there is loose soil on the top, that may be a soft spot.
