Has to be an 'alignment' issue. ANY rider/mower will bust belts if the belt doesn't run properly. It should run 'flat against the 'flat' pulleys, near center if possible AND at 'right angles' as well. Anything 'bent' even a little will cause a problem. You may need a few 'extra' eyes to see what's really wrong.Look from both side of the tractor, have someone slowly turn the blades to see how the belt moves. If electric PTO, do not engage at full speed! The 'shock' can 'yank' the belt, hit a pulley 'wrong' and nick the belt, Do that a few times.....whamm, busted belt. Also check the deck to be straight and plumb. Again this is an 'alignment' thing. Whacking tree roots a few times can bend the deck and or mounts juuuust enough to throw off proper alignment. Knowing what belts cost, take a day or more to see WHY it's happening, might only take 10 minutes with a hammer to re-align the culprit.
hoping this helps

make sure you are putting onthe proper lenght to tight breaks them also make sure all the spring loaded idlers move proper because as the deck goes through alow spot the distance is longer between pulleys i would look at pulleys pivot points
