The real stuff works but it has to have a mass layer, usually of heavy rubber with soft foam to support it.  Just a layer of generic foam is not effective, you have to have a mass to absorb energy.   Seems like someone posted a site for cab interior rebuild suppliers before.

I just did the floor of my one-ninety, and I made a 3 layer floor mat. The bottom layer I made out of some household rubberized runner material, the middle layer I made out of some fairly thick ( I suppose  about 3/4 inch) interlocking firm foam pieces that I got from Mennards, and the top layer is some textured rubber mat material that I got at runnings farm and fleet. I am very happy with how it turned out.  Darrel
