When i try to start the WD it floods right away, would this require a simple carb. rebuild or is it something else? Thanks in advance John.

Sounds like your float is stuck, or else your float in your carb doesn't float any more. Does it leak gas when not running? Do you shut the petcock off when the tractor isn't running?

It doesn't leak when not running, and the float doesn't have any holes i just checked that

If it just has come up recently, you probably have a stuck needle in the float assembly - perhaps a small piece of dirt or rust. Rather than dismantle your carb, I would take off the gas line, take a blower nozzle connected to your air compressor and blow a few shots into the gas intake line on the carb. Don't do it when the engine is hot, because it might blow gas all over the place and could start a fire if gas landed on the exhaust or other place hot. Give it a few small quick shots, reconnect your gas line and see it the problem still exists. The air should dislodge any dirt between the needle and seat of your float assembly.

Sorry, I just read your reply after I posted mine. Sounds like you already have the bowl off the carb. Did the problems come up suddenly? I assume no one monkeyed with the adjustments, right?

I just got the tractor two weeks ago and it's been doing since the previous owner had it. He said it probably needed a new float so i took it apart to test it and the float was fine. I ordered a rebuild kit but it was for a M&S carb mine is zenith but their needle had a spring type piece that attached to the float and needle, is zenith supposed to have one of them?

You said that you "checked the float and it didn't have any holes". It still may leak, as the soldered joint often develops cracks in the solder that you can't see. First, shake it to see if you can hear gas sloshing around inside. Then, put the float in a can or sink of very hot water and hold it under. This will expand the air inside and if there is a leak you will see the bubbles coming from the leak.

I would just rebuild the entire card. Its easy cheap and will save you alot of frustration in the future. Get the #s off your zenith carb and take em to your Agco dealer or a goog parts store.

Check the float (if the sides are sunk in,that will cause flooding aswell).

If its like a couple of mine, you dont choke them at all when starting or esle they WILL be flooded. Both tractor start when its a gazzillion degrees below zero, just DONT choke it. Both have the fuel on all time and dont run the carb over. Now the rest of em ya gotta choke a little. Go figure!!
