This HB-112 came my way today...or rather, I went to it. The seller contacted me a few weeks ago to let me know he heard of my regret sometime back, for selling my old HB-112. Well...through a few exchanges, he had ended up with it! Rebuilt the hydro pump and freshened the engine while he had it too. Since he was liquidating, he wanted it to be mine again. I found a couple other items to make the 820 mile journey worthwile.
There was more to the trip as well....I left out of here with a full truck and trailer at 230am this morning to sell/deliver some items as well, and met up with a group of around 20 fellow collectors in Ohio for an annual BS Session. Was a long and enjoyable day in MI, OH, PA & IN!
Maybe tomorrow we can get some action shots.

Snuck out and played a bit before my...ground is still pretty mushy in low spots, but it makes it easy to see where I need to shift some fill to. Took a crown out of this small gravel parking area I made a couple years back. I keep my 16' trailer here...brought it up nearly 3 feet, but it has settled and it's awful compacted, so I loosened some gravel with the scarifiers and pulled/smoothed it out in a low spot. Works better than I thought...I have a 36" which is a handful for a tractor this size, and assumed the 42" would just be too much. It fit the hydro well...and I greatly prefer using the hydro's smooth speed control vs a gear drive for this type of work. I shoulda shot some video, but wasn't out there long with the illness I have going.

uploads/10945/gan01.JPG" rel="nofollow - gan01.JPG Josh, looks like fun. A 42" on Big Ten, even with duals, and weight is a bit much

Admittedly, I picked this up with a local fella in mind. It was cheap-ish, and he offered to help me with fuel $$ for my trip. He has done the same for me, on some of his adventures, and we trade favors like that. I'm very happy with my 36, and actually may give it some use this spring, if things ever dry out back in the woods. When I first used my Gannon behind my Big Ten a few years back, I had the loader and duals on, and I couldn't make that thing work for nothin. I ditched the outer 6" Ags and it did 10X better. Those narrow AG tires bit like crazy, but when doubled up, gave too much float for my work.

Nice HB Josh. Is that original paint? I'm a little jealous of that earthcavator. I have a Sears 3 point model but planned on making an adapter to the Simplicity hitch.

Chris....technically, the original paint is still on it, but Maynard did a touchup job on parts of the machine. This tractor has been owned by AT LEAST 7 simpletractors club members. The first time I tried to buy it, was after Maynar's passing, when Lady Anne recieved help finding homes for his collection. I was 2nd in line for the HB and a year or so later, Reed offered it to me. I used Uship to have it brought from Massechusets to Michigan. When I sold it, I drove it down to Indy. From there it found 2 homes in Ohio, and then I ran nearly to Sandy Lake to pick it back up...she has a lot of miles on her!
This is my FD-36...dis you spot it at GOTO? It was adapted from a Sears 3pt as well. I had a machinist make shanks, but now the manufacturer is offering them again for something like $8/ea

Ahh, that's the one you had Ken Holz modify? I have one Sears Suburban with a heavy duty 3 point and wanted to just make something that bolted on or off for easy changeover.

I gotcha...Im sure there is an easy enough way to make that happen.
I bought mine from Levi several years ago...I have seen Ken's and his simplicity hitch is identical to oem whereas mine is not. Does the job though and noone has beat me up over the mod-job (yet) =)
I do have one of Ken's 42" Cat0 units coming though. Cant wait for that to arrive!
