I thought about calling this 'Look what has yet to follow me home' but I'm kinda hoping it'll find it's way to me without making the drive to get it ! Still got to talk to a fell'er to see if he get's to southern Arkansas and got another friend checking with a friend about haulage. It'll get to Jackson Ohio before fall or I'll be going after it ! Just thought I'd share some pictures.

Dream covered my first 2 thoughts. Jim, you can bet there will be videos of it in action when I get it home.
No, OSHA wouldn't like these. I'll probably make some guards to go over the gears. The big ones aren't the problem, they turn fairly slow. It's the little ones that get you in trouble.
Pat, we made 22 gallons last fall from roughly 1/4 acres of cane. It's in my Aunts' cellar, they mostly give it away to folks that come by or feed it to the cows after a couple years.
Jay, the seller said it weigh 1000+ pounds. His loader tractor won't lift it !
Robert, I hope to run it with a flat belt off my G, so that will make some give but you still won't want to get caught in it.
Charles, I have a pretty good lead on getting it home and one I haven't followed up on. Heck, I'm a truck driver, it's only 800 miles away !
Here is last falls sorghum making. This is a Chattanooga 13 Improved horse powered mill, with a few more horses doing the work. Yes, it's slow, painfully slow and that chain has a tendancy to do damage with it breaks.

That's pretty cool. Haven't been around a cane squeezing in a long time.
Fella close to the house still has a horse powered mill set up out in front of his barn. Has a mule to run it.

Well, after a few hours of wondering where he was, Rob Henegar finally got through the flood waters and a mud slide to deliver my cane mill about 8am this morning. This thing is huge ! The pictures absolutly do not do it justice ! I've added a few dimentions to give a better understanding of it's size. We had doubts the 3020 loader would lift it but it did without any problem. The belt pulley for it is 24" dia, 8" wide ! I cleaned up the shaft and made a key, it's back together the way it was intended.

Orders, Larry !? Well, if it were up to me, there is around 20 gallons in my Aunt's cellar that could be sold, we made 22 gallons (88 quarts) last fall. They usually just give it to whoever comes and helps with the process and whoever expresses an interest during the year. Maybe AC_Stan_ Oh will chime in and tell if the jar I sent him was any good.
Jim, you're close enough to come help !! Got to rototill the ground again and may work up another small plot for a bit more. Plant with push planters. This is why I'm looking for another of the Golden Harvest planters made to be pulled with a tool bar, so I can put them under my G to do the planting. Below is what I'm looking for. Will be cultivating with my G, fall work is a bit more time consuming.

| Just a quick note on this planter, it works great behind a lawn mower ! Soil was really loose after running the tractor mounted tiller over it but everything worked fine. Only a small area left to do with the push planters, it's kinda damp yet and wants to ball up under this planter. Sure do want another one ! |
