I was wondering how many members will be going to GOTO in Gray. This is going to be a great show and anyone who has not planned to attend should try and make it.
I will be there along with my girlfriend and Dad; we will be there for the entire duration. Unfortunately, I will not have anything in the show this year; but, there is always next year.

Who will be there? *
What are you bringing? *

Had plans of driving up early Sat morning, but just found out my 83 year old, never been sick a day in his life grandfather in Amarillo has a very fast spreading form of cancer. He only has 3 months, I'm going out on 4-17 to see him while he's still in fairly good shape. Regret that I won't make the GOTO, but gramps is much more important to me. Won't make the big iron crank up in Bowman either.

I'll be there with a buddy. We'll be in the dry camping area in a Mountineer fith Wheel.
There will be Allis-Chalmers Club of Ontario logos hanging on the canopy. It usually ends up being a meeting place. Stop by for a refreshment.

My wife and I will be there. Just looking, not bringing anything. We go to Gray every year as it is only 45 minutes from home. Note: You guys from the south use I-26 from Asheville. I-40 is still shut down due to the rock slide.
|
Posted By: Lance/SC
Date Posted: 11 Apr 2010 at 9:16am
Wel, is I-40 closed both ways?
|
Posted By: JoeM(GA)
Date Posted: 11 Apr 2010 at 9:58am
from the NC DOT
DUE TO A ROCK SLIDE, I-40 IS CLOSED IN BOTH
DIRECTIONS BETWEEN EXIT 20 (U.S. 276), 24 MILES WEST OF ASHEVILLE, IN
NORTH CAROLINA AND EXIT 451 IN TENNESSEE
Travelers can still reach Western North Carolina.
Both
directions of I-40 are closed between Exit 20, West of Asheville in
North Carolina, and Exit 451 in Tennessee due to a rock slide at mile
marker 2.6 on I-40 in North Carolina. The road is not expected to
reopen until late April. http://www.ncdot.org/traffictravel/ - http://www.ncdot.org/traffictravel/

Dream,
Sorry to hear about your grandpa. The GOTO will come again. Grandpa only comes once in a lifetime. He is in my prayers.
I was talking to my dad yesterday about making the trip. Don't know if we will, but I would sure like to.

Thanks. I just got back from Amarillo yesterday. Gramps passed away peacefully in his sleep. He had all his afairs in order, and was on good terms with the lord.
Got to speak with him some. He really was an amazing man. Always walked with the lord, never complained about much of anything, and was always kind to everyone he met. It was so amazing to watch him, it was almost effortless the way he went. He was completely relaxed and never afraid at all. Really taught me some things about being a better person.
Sorry I won't be making the GOTO, but the flight to Texas and back got my tractor allowance for a few weeks. I would say it was money well spent though.
Did anyone get to the Big iron crankup in Bowman GA last Sat?

Brent, Very sorry to hear of his passing, but truly sounds like he was at peace and sure of his next stop.
You didn't miss anything at Bowman, only 5-6 tractors but some nice hit-n-miss engines there. Wasn't really worth the gas burned, but as always, met some nice people there.
