I have a question ..i have a wd i took on trade for some work .by the serial number in my book "the allis chalmers story" it is a1954 some told me it has to be a wd45 because they didnt make wd in54 and it has snap coupler and curved shifter.but it has g201 .with tall head .is there any way allis just used what they had on hand at the time?

I would guess someone changed engines along the way, probably due to cracked block. It may be a 201 block with 226 internals.

Most 60 year old tractors have had parts replaced, and are not original for long.

Its 201 internals. sheet metal says wd .just wasn't sure if durnng change over if maybe they used left over parts.

In 1953 at Ser. 127007 WD started with curved shifter ( and the 45 Transmission )

Best thing would be to get your WD Tractor serial number.
