the boot on my hd-5 transmission for the plunger to lock my transmission in gear is not in usable condition, it is ripped badly and is leaking horribly.
anyone know where I can buy a new one or a suggestion as to what I can do?

I've got a neighbor parting out an old style HD-5 with straight blade.  It hasn't run for 30 years but it has been covered up.  He is in NE Indiana.  He'd likely sell some parts if anyone is looking.  I believe the tracks are shot as is the engine.  Transmission and gears might be ok.

I don't know the shape and size of your boot but I have used the boot for the CV joint for a front wheel drive car as a gear shift lever boot.

Do you know what kind of blade it is? Are the cylinders mounted on either side of the radiator? I have several bare tractors which don't have blades. thus the reason for my reply.
