What made him think he could get that for $3000?!? Greed I reckon. Thought he could pull a fast one on someone and got took himself.

Hey that's my tractor.  I'm looking at it right now.  Some crooks.  But yes it is for sale.  Just send $4000 cash to PO Box 23, Porta Heina, Mexico and I'll even deliver it.  I'm a national diplomat.  Trust me.  LOL
Anyone with two brain cells could tell it was too good to be true.

He doesn't say the tractor he bought is the one in the picture. Either way he should know a scam is a scam.

If you check the YT classified archives, you will find this JD4320 is a rough parts tractor with a bad crankshaft. $2950 would not be too much for this tractor.  It certainly would not have raised any flags to me as being a scam.
