Bobby,
Tell your Dad to get home soon and listen to the doctors! We need him around working on these old tractors and helping us for a long time in the future! I am glad he is getting the care he needs!

Thanks Bobby

Hope the quitting smoking don't make him cranky LOL.
Go buy him a big box of assorted tootsie pops, it'll keep him busy but without the cigarette.
Good to hear he's getting better, can't wait to aggravate him.

Thanks for the update Bobby. Tell Don he has more than a good chance to come out on the other side of this with many years to look forward to. That is what finally took my Mother, but she also had so many other ailments that it made it difficult for her to get to a good quality of life. She still had about 10 years of quality after finding the heart problem. Praying for Don. God Bless.

Prayers for continued recovery for Don, and for the strength and perseverance to QUIT THE DAMN CIGARETTES.

Let this remind us all of 2 things:  Quit the dang cigarettes.  I don't care if your cousin's brother in law's neighbor's uncle lived to be 95 and smoked.  Don't take the chance that you are one of those one in a million, they're a waste of money and they're terrible for you.

2., most work, even most hard farmer work or mechanic work, even long hours of it AREN'T REALLY EXERCISE.  I'm plenty guilty of this one myself, and I'm trying to do something about it.

Good luck and good health to all of you.

//////UPDATE\\\\\\

Today has been an up and down for dad.

This morning I had a gut feeling to go see dad. Got to the hospital dad was not doing well. His liver enzymes skyrocketed. His creatine went to 2, which is BAD. His breathing went down. So in a nut shell things were going south in hurry. Moved him to MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit)

The Docs ran dang near ever test possible to see what's going on. The Docs had to walk a fine line. They had to get him fluids to try to get his kidneys going. But they had to keep a real close eye on his heart to make he didn't wind up in cardiac arrest from to much fluid.

After almost 1L of fluid, and several hrs, produced urine.

With the scans of the abdomen they have found blockages to his liver. The Docs are hoping that with the kidney function improving, they can do a CT scan with dye to pin point where and how much blockage there is.

So at this present moment things are looking better than they did 2 hrs ago.

Dad wanted me to tell you all thanks for the prayers. He is going to fight this.

Bobby,
Thanks very much for the updates on your Dad. He is very sick as I read your words. Good doctors are like good tractor mechanics, right now he needs some damn good ones! Hoping he has much better days ahead. Tell him that old man from Pennsylvania is pulling for him!

Thoughts and prayers go to Dad for a full and complete recovery.  Prayers go out to the entire family too Bobby.  If he wants to fight, he can do this.  A wonderful man who spends a lot of time on the phone (I know, I've tied him up enough) willing to help someone out with a question or 20.  He's always been there for me, so now it's my turn to help him out!

When I quit smoking, it was a mind over matter thing to start.  You HAVE to make up your mind first, or you'll never git er done.
Second, I bought a couple of boxes of tooth picks.  When I got that urge, I just pulled out  a toothpick and chewed on that.  I did those little stir sticks (from the bar) too, but that gets old after a while.  Toothpicks are biodegradable too.

He's too young, so he's gotta fight!  Keep us updated Bobby and God be with you during this whole thing.
