I have a 190xt with drain plugs tied together, I am guessing the seal is out and letting fluids transfer from pto to trans
Also have a 180 that just started doing the same thing, pumped all the fluid into trans and started coming out the dip stick.
So I am thinking I have two tractors with the same problem. Does the tractor need to be split to fix them, is this a big repair. Should anything else be addressed while this is getting repaired.
Thanks for any help

yes it will need split. Its not a terrible job but it all depends on your skill level and confidence. Ive split about 6 190s and have another to get to. If your mechanically inclined you can do it but get a factory service manual.

I'm probably going to need to have this done by someone besides myself, what would you expect it cost

I haven't tackled mine yet I bought the service manual and looks easier than some of the other tractors I've done. As soon as we get the last 1086 back together I'll have a splitting stand freed up. And hope to get it done this summer. As long as you've got level concrete and plenty of blocking splitting a tractor isn't hard. We've got splitting stands at the farm and it makes the job go much faster. I've done smaller tractors WD 45s in My barn with just blocking and a floor jack. We had a John Deere 8430 split at the dealer for a 3rd 4th clutch it was around $4k dollars. We didn't have time during planting to have it down. And don't have the equipment to split a articulating 4WD

You will most likely need the housing the PD sets in, three piston ring seals, input seal and gasket, PTO seals front and back. Split gasket, PD valve o rings, and gaskets.   MACK
