I'm really interested in repowered tractors and I was wondering if any of you guys have done it to any of yours? My cousin just bought a huge (3500lb) milling machine and an even larger(4500lb) metal lathe. So I will have an easy time getting adapter plates and any other custom parts. So after I get my next truck and have a little cash built back up repowering my '41 WC will be my next big project.

Awesome pictures guys keep 'em coming. I love the MH with the V8. Does it have an automatic transmission??
Maurice, I was thinking about finding a Dodge V8 as well or a small diesel.

I found a posting of Chrysler engine+bellhousing swap on Allpar http://www.allpar.com/forums/index.php/topic/117404-enginetransmission-bell-housings/
Looks like most of the V8 and V6 engines have same bolt pattern.

Racn- I really like our HOTROD MasseyHarris. Someday I want to have a V-8 powered tractor! I was at a Tractor ride this summer and someone had a Farmall H with a 305 Chevy V8. Very nice.

i own two of kinze's repowers--one since '75 the other since '81--both troublefree workhorses just not orange however some 7080's and 7580's have gotten a new lease on life with very successful cummins repowers.

Like that Massey Harris! I see the Powerglide is in front of the stock tranny. Should give you an auto tranny with dual ranges. Seems like it would work well.
Calvin, did you happen to ask the owner of that hotrod G mower how the tranny and finals liked the extra 300 HP? Not too well i'd imagine. LOL!

oh man! the 190XT with the perkins 354 is really engineered! While a 354 is a good engine, I hardly believe them to be any better than an AC 301. Looks like an awful lot of work when 301's are plentiful.

Well... my shop floor is held down with a 10,000lb vertical mill and a 12,000lb lathe, but the mill in my wife's garage is only 4200lbs, and the lathe is only 5000... but I know a guy with a 29,000lb mill and a 56,000lb lathe, and another friend's got a vertical lathe big enough to park my pickup on... so I consider all of my stuff 'small'... I figure that when I can chuck the earth in it, and skim off the Himalayas, I'll call it 'huge'... ;-) |

Thanks, had to ask. Hadnt seen any other 8Ns with the V12s in them. The one I know of has just strait pipes on it and at idle you cannot hear the engine run!
