Some dummy (me) lost the plug for the hydraulic fill tube for the rear end, by the top link mount. Anyone have one they can part with?

I need one for a 7030 also! In a pinch a Donald Duck orange juice metal can will fit snug. Thats what mine came pimped out with.

I dont know for sure but im thinking those plugs that expand when you twist a handle come in different sizes. Not like factory but get you by in a pinch. Maybe yes maybe no

Factory plug is vented. That's why I tell every one to zip tie it to a piece of hardware store chain and a nearby remote cable. Didn't get much help from salvage yards. AGCO had it $$$$$ Mines out there in that 8 acre field somewhere.

Wondering what is the OD of the pipe? How close is it to the size of engine oil fill breather caps for like C, CA, D12, D14, D15, D17 engines.
Or the twist n swell caps shown by earlier posts could be used if a vent (AC#229944) like in the AC200 trans top cover could be added or even maybe a couple small holes (under 1/8") were drilled in pipe just under where the rubber plug swells in it. |

Get a 7000 series transmission oil dipstick from a salvage yard and cut most of the stick off. Also, the 7030 and 7050s used a rubber fill plug like the engine oil fill plug. It was not vented and they switched to a smaller vented type.

i would use something like this... put a bigger washer on top so it does not slide down in the tube.. and put a short 90 degree rubber hose on top of the "vent" to keep dirt out..... again,verify tube ID.

Ford used an expansion plug on a lot of their tractors. I know the 6610 and 7610 I have use them for the engine and the rear end fills. They are not vented, though... but they are readily available

I would not have thought mine was vented. Why bother with snug o ring fit and flange cover only to vent it. Just a ring on top. I admit I never took that close of a look, and I don’t doubt you guys. Just wouldn’t have thought.

On my 7000 there are 2 street 90's with screens in them, facing forward. So when I pull the dip stick out I see 2 orings to make it seal.

A 7000 has two vents in the top rear cover,one for each final drive. It also has a breather for the transmission in the top of the shift cover. And, the dipstick for the rear end oil also acts as a breather for that compartment. The 7030 and 7050 tractors had some oil transfer problems between rear end and transmission compartment and there were also some rear axle leakage problems that the company thought was perhaps caused by the non vented rear ends. The rear axle leakage was usually caused by an undersized wear ring. They made an oversized wear ring, that fit tighter on the axle to cure them.
