Nice!  After you clean it up, take a good very close up pic of those decals on the moldboard of your 63 plow.  Very few AC plows have decals left that readable anymore.  They even have the part number? along with the bottom number.  I like the belt pulley on your D17 too!.  Mike

Looks like  good ground.  You need to set your  wheel in a hole or two. Mite have to move plow  on shaft up front, to make pull straight. Should be able to unhook the lift arm latches and plow run perfect if everything is set right. They will float through like a walking plow behind a team of horses. Just play around with it. There a fun  plow to work with.  Roger.

Move both wheels. Set front wheel so it runs in the middle of the back tire tread.  I mever had a three bottom with a land wheel. On a four bottom plow you need to have the tires set  out some.  When the rear tire is along the side of the forrow, measure and you should be cutting 14 or 16 inch what ever your plow is.

Then ajust plow on front shaft so it pulls straight. You shoulkd beable to unhook the lift latches. they should have nothing to do with holding the plow in line.  Just keep playing with it.  Roger

dad(bolivar boy) and i where in the barn last night, intentions where to adjust that bar on the front, (thanks for the info roger) it needs to be slid the opposite way than the d-17 in the pics in this post. needless to say  the fasteners probably havn't been turned in 40 years. dad broke 2 loose, broke the head off one and the last one was broke off flush and we drilled it out so we can use an eze-out. a little heat today and some hardware and we  should be able to carry on with our adjustment procedings. hopefully everything goes ok, saturday looks like a nice day for field work.  pete

This picture looks like the furrow wheel is about  4-6 inches to the right of the landside of the furrow. The first bottom looks like it is only cutting 10 inches. Looks to me like if the tractor was a 5 inches to the left the first bottom would be cutting the full width. Now I'm no plow expert but I did turn a lot of by the age of 15.

My point was, it doesn't look to me like you right wheel needs to be moved in. If you drive in the furrow next to the cut, your plow will cut a full width. If you drove to the left a little the dirt turned by the first bottom would also cover you wheel track.
I also think the lift links would hang different if you drove only in the furrow instead of on top of turned dirt.Sleepy

I never plowed with a wide front tractor but I have seen guys turn their front to the left so let the right front wheel tries to climb out of the furrow, let go of the steering wheel and go all the way across the field without touching the steering wheel again.

Dang..your pics are giving me the "itch" to put my snoring D-17 to work.. Son went up last week and used the WD to move some stuff around and cut pretty deep in the heavy clay with the narrower tires..guess I'm going to have to wait a couple more weeks !!!
