I'm not sure what the model number is off hand but if those fertilizer hoppers are as good as they look from the picture I would jump on that if I were you. I don't know if you keep up on the going $$ on those little two row planters but they go for big $$ around my neck of the woods especially if they are complete and the fertilizer hoppers are good.  Good Luck!    Dennis.

Looks like a drill planter, 3-point version of the famous Snap-Coupler planter, mid to late '50's.
I have a SC version and I have been looking for a 3-point version or "kit" to convert.  That one is a factory 3-point version.  Look for a manual for "Drill Planter", usually shows "D" series on cover, older manuals have WD-WD45 on cover.

Can't really tell from picture if it is all there and overall condition. Hoppers look fine. Pat might be a little high for my area -- more like $300.  ---- But you are right there and that adds a little to the value. Easy to load into pickup and go. I have a SC planter similar  that was completely restored - paid $500 and had to go several hundred miles to get it. Have used it a lot, was worth the money to me -- and thats what counts. How badly do you want it.  3pt might be worth something to you as well - don't know what tractor you might be using with. Show us a picture when you get it home.  LOL

It was simply called the rear mounted drill planter by AC.  My father uses one that he bought at an auction for $40 about 25 years ago,  Our neighbor, who has green blood, has told people that it's about the best planter he's ever seen. n It's heavy enough to put the seed in lumpy clay soil, yet the big press wheels don't sink in when the soil is soft.  Here are a couple pics of it right after it came out of the shed one spring and I'll also link to a video of it in action, and also to a harvest scene of a field of corn planted by that planter.  When he bought the planter, it also came with row markers that have never been used (don't really need them for a two row planter) and an iron to convert it use by a three point hitch tractor which has also never been used.  By the way...does anyone have some good parts for one of these planters.  Ours needs the seven tooth sprocket on the seed box shaft.  if anyone know of one, please let me know!  Thanks[TUBE]43c1aQGaC5w[/TUBE][TUBE]S1P4SsHKbV8[/TUBE]
